The process begins by adding a mix of lawn seed, mulch, fertiliser and water to a specially equipped tank which mixes the ingredients into the thick slurry.
The mix is then sprayed evenly over the prepared topsoil forming an interlocking mat on the soils surface. The mulch reduces surface movement and halts any seed loss when watering, allowing the area to germinate evenly.
The mulch also provides sufficient warmth and moisture to the new seed, increasing the speed of germination.
After germination, the mulch begins to decompose improving the soils quality and texture.
Compared to other roll-out turf methods, Hydroturf lawns established on-site have a better chance of deep root development. Turf grown in different soil types off-site can also impede water movement.
